School Leader Induction

Norfolk School Leader Induction, formerly Headteacher Induction
Reflecting the changing nature and title of those leading our schools, this course is now called School Leader Induction.

Who is it for?

All new or new to Norfolk school leaders, acting or substantive and regardless of setting.

What will I learn?

We look at the Norfolk education landscape in areas such as SEND & inclusion, different settings and the role of different organisations as well as a range of leadership skills such as effective delegation, difficult conversations, working with governors and trustees and whole school wellbeing including your own.

How much does it cost?

This is a free course to ensure it is accessible to all and support Norfolk leaders to have the best possible start in their role.

Overview

  • 7 face to face sessions per year, one per half term plus a welcome session in September
  • 7 online twilight sessions per year, 1 per half term with an intorduction session in September. Additional sessions will be added int rhoughout the year in response to government announcements and for our LA Maintained leaders. 
  • Mentoring by a volunteer serving head
  • Peer Support Group to help establish a network and connections.
  • Covers a variety of aspects of school leadership.
  • Led by serving Norfolk school leaders.
  • Hosted in Norfolk schools.
  • Skill and not processed based so applicable to all settings.
